Dr. B.S.K. Naidu, Chairman

Ph.D, D. Engg. (USA), M.Tech, B. E. (Hons)

Dr. Naidu served as the Director General of the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) and Reliance Energy Management Institute (REMI). His Leadership at NPTI has been made the subject of a case study on “Transformational Leadership” for MBA students and he has also been one of the models of study on Human Excellence at IIM, Ahmedabad. Dr. Naidu was a key architect of National Perspective Plan for R&D and the National Training Policy for Power Sector. He has a double Doctorate in Engineering and Management, is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering and has authored over 150 publications including 15 books. He has won 14 individual awards (national and international) and led REMI, NPTI and CPRI to 6 institutional awards besides representing India at many International forums including his lead speech addressing the UN General Assembly. Dr. Naidu was also a Senior Advisor to the Advanced Engineering Associates International Inc. (AEAI) headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He is an acclaimed thought leader who has a unique way of mapping management thoughts with engineering acumen. He has addressed more than 33,000 intellectuals so far, including his 70-Guest Lectures abroad, across five continents, as a transnational speaker.

Professor S. K. Palhan, Director

Professor Palhan, has had a long and distinguished career in education and is also one of the foremost trainers in the country on Leadership and Self Effectiveness. Professor Palhan was the founder director of Sri Sringeri Sharada Institute of Management and is credited with building the institute from inception. He has also been a visiting faculty to many business schools including IMI, FORE School of Management, NPTI, amongst others. Widely recognized as an expert in Operations, Supply Chain and Project Management, he has been widely consulted by the industry. Professor Palhan is an advisor to the Ministry of Defence and has previously advised various organizations including the Ministry of Industries and World Bank. As a trainer and an executive coach, he has conducted over 250 workshops on Self Development and Organizational Effectiveness for various companies and senior management. Professor Palhan is a Director on the board of Tanla Technologies Ltd. and has previously served on the boards of Traco Cable Company and Ampersand Informatics. He has authored multiple books including ‘Managing Projects’ and “Defence Industrial Base-2025” with Mr.H.C.Gandhi & Brig . Bhalla. He is a co-holder of two patents in the area of Brazing compounds.

Mohan Lakhamraju, Vice Chairman

MBA, Stanford University, MS, University of California, Berkeley, B.Tech, IIT Mumbai

Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju has over 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur and private equity investor. He has been an active investor in the education sector for the past five years and his passion for quality education led to the genesis of IEMR. He strongly believes in the need for higher education to be practical and to equip graduates with skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become productive contributors to the community upon graduation. He has helped set up IEMR to meet the growing needs for managerial talent in the Energy sector and will focus on the areas of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Finance.

Most recently, Mr. Lakhamraju served as a Managing Director at Tiger Global, a global investment firm headquartered in New York, where he set up and managed their India office. Earlier, Mr. Lakhamraju was an Associate at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a premier Venture Capital firm based in Silicon Valley, California, where he was responsible for their India investments. Prior to that, he was a founding member of Stratify, a software technology company based in Mountain View, California, which was acquired by Iron Mountain, a NYSE listed information services company. Mr. Lakhamraju received a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Dr. Vikas Prakash Singh

Ph.D, M.A, Economics 

Dr. Vikas Prakash Singh brings over 16 years of teaching and research experience in the field of economics and energy. Most recently, he held the position of Head, Center of Excellence - Energy Economics at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehra Dun. Prior to that, he was the Head and Associate Director of UPES's Center for Continuing Education. Under his able leadership, the CCE grew manifold in terms of enrolment. He has managed the PhD and Executive MBA programs at UPES and designed and conducted Corporate Trainings for IOC, Oil India and Cairn Energy. Several of Dr. Singh's research projects have been published as monographs, and he is the author of a book titled Economic and Fiscal Gains from Liberalization in Punjab. Dr. Singh is involved in teaching several pivotal courses in the IEMR PGPM and involving himself in  research and consultancy activities.

Poornima Gupta

MBA, BSc ( Statistics)

Poornima Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the field of Organizational Behaviour and HRM. She has more than twelve years of experience in industry and academia. She has worked as faculty at National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), Lucknow and organizations like Himalaya Exports Delhi, Permo Marketers, Lucknow and Ask Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara. She is Post Graduate in Management and BSc in statistics from Lucknow University.

A keen researcher, she has published and presented ten research papers and cases in various journals. She has done research in association with University of Arkansas US in the areas of Innovation, cross-cultural management and Ethical Decision making.

She has co-authored two books, one on “Organization Structure and Design- An Indian Perspective” published by Macmillan and the other on “Family managed, Multinationals and Public Sector Enterprises- the Strategic choices for Global Competiveness” published by Ane books, She has also authored two chapters in the Capstone case- “FortCaps Ltd” by Fortune Institute of International Business. She has conducted several MDP’s for executives of North Delhi Power Ltd.(NDPL), CSIR and FIEO.
 

Anupam Sircar

PGDM, IIM Bangalore, MA, Duke University, USA

Mr. Anupam Sircar holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and a Master’s Degree in International Development Policy from Duke University in the US. A mechanical engineer by training, he started his career in 1988 in the energy sector with NTPC, the largest generation utility in India. He has been involved in training and development, capacity and institution building since his early career days. He helped set up NTPC’s new training facility at NOIDA known as Power Management Institute with funding from the World Bank. He was associated with a USAID-funded project on energy cooperation which was aimed at building local capacity in reforming the energy sector in South Asia. He has extensive experience working with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka on regional energy trade, energy sector reform and regulation, distribution management and energy efficiency. He has also been working as a Management Consultant preparing strategic business plans, road maps, organizational policies and techno-commercial reports for infrastructure projects in India.

Gautam Lakhamraju

PGDBM, MDI, Gurgaon, B.Tech DA-IICT, Gandhinagar

Mr. Lakhamraju was a management consultant in the energy sector with a focus on market assessment and strategy, financial modelling and project appraisal. He has worked with a diverse set of clients who range from startup green tech firms to the worlds largest renewable energy developers, Navratna PSUs, global power equipment majors and five of India's top ten private power companies. He has worked extensively in renewable energy including wind, solar and small hydro. He is a keen observer of global technology development in the energy space. His current areas of interest include smart grid technologies which bring together communication and IT system with the traditional infrastructure to revolutionize the grid systems.

Mohan Menon

MBA, FMS, Delhi, B.E.(Electrical), NIT, Bhopal

Mr. Menon has over 25 years experience in the Indian power sector with expertise in a range of areas including contracting, market dynamics and trading. He has served on the board of many energy companies, including a Powergrid joint-venture, as a senior vice-president at Power Trading Corporation, India’s leading power trading company and for over a decade at NTPC where he was involved with planning, project management and execution of several large generation projects.

Ravi Agarwal

FCA, AICWA, M.Com

Prof Ravi Agarwal specializes in Corporate Finance, Risk Management and Asset Pricing. He has about 20 years experience of teaching, training and research and consulting in his specialization area. He has been involved in designing and conducting executive training programmes on financial risk management, corporate finance, strategic cost management, and financial modeling. He has trained senior and middle level executives from Indian Oil Corporation, NTPC, Food Corporation of India, HUDCO, UTI Asset Management, SIDBI, public sector banks, ministries, number of other organizations.

He has written and presented over 30 research papers in international conferences. He has a number of published papers to his credit. His current research interests include power trading and energy derivatives. In addition, he has expertise is in the use of Information and Communication Technologies for business usage and advantage. He has extensive academic administration experience in proposing and designing new courses, managing a senior faculty team as area chair, and heading flagship PG programmes in the area of management. In addition to teaching and research, he is actively involved in writing finance case studies in Indian context. He has been acted as mentor to dozens of students’ summer projects and successfully converted them into leading case studies and/or frontier research papers.

He has several years of consulting and business development background in finance, accounting, and institution building. He has been instrumental in helping Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan to achieve process maturity through series of management development programmes for officers of Bhutan Government. As an effective team member, he has handled consulting assignments for Delhi University, NHAI, National Institute of Fashion Technology, FCI, and many more in the area of accounting and project finance.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Associate of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. He holds membership of prestigious organizations such as American Finance Association-USA (AFA), Asia-Pacific Risk Managers Association (APRIA), and Professional Risk Managers’ International Association-USA (PRMIA).
 

Y.N. Kaushal

With over 30 years of experience in industry and academics, Mr. Mr. YN Kaushal is a management development expert. He served as a Faculty member and as the head of the Management Department at the Power Management Institute of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for 16 years. He has designed and delivered more than 500 management development programs in diverse areas to executives including General Managers and Executive Directors. He has received extensive training in UK and the US and is qualified as an administrator and trainer for programs using MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator). His teaching interests include Management of Creativity and Innovation, Strategic Management, Human Resource Development, Organization Behavior etc. His research interest is primarily in the area of improving top management efficiency and effectiveness.
 

Rajiv Malhotra

PGDBM, IIM Lucknow

Mr. Malhotra has over 20 years of experience in key management roles in the power sector in India. He played a key role in the development of energy trading in India as one of the first five employees of Power Trading Corporation. He serves as the COO of a power development company developing a portfolio of over 4000 MW. He has been involved in numerous training programs and holds a keen interest in educating young talent.

Pritima Kaushal

BA (Hons), MBA

Ms. Pritima Kaushal started her career with Methodex and went on to work with companies such as Modi Xerox and TRIFED. After about eight years in the industry where she won many accolades, she co-founded Enablers Management Consultancy Services in 1992 which provides training and consulting services to the best managed companies in India such as ITC, HUL, Bharti Airtel, Dabur, Reliance Petroleum, HCL Technologies etc. A Life member of the Indian Society for Training and Development, teaching is a passion for her and she has taught at International Management Institute, Institute of Marketing and Management, AIMA and Skyline Business School among others. She teaches Marketing and Sales management in addition to Business Communication and Personal Effectiveness. In addition to teaching, Ms. Kaushal is also actively involved in supervising projects for students and helping them with their personality development.

Mr. Praveen Singh has been actively involved in Teaching (HRM & OB), Corporate Training & Consulting for more than 11-years. He is a Visiting Professor of Management to several Business Schools affiliated with Mumbai University & SNDT University. He has conducted several Faculty Development programs for colleges and schools in Mumbai and Bangalore. He worked with a UK-based Web Enabled Enterprise as Human Resource Manager and with a leading Management Consulting (Specializing in Grid-Leadership OD) company, before setting up COGITO, his Training, Assessment & Counseling Centre, where he is Director and Chief Counselor. He is a Trainer Faculty at Reliance Energy Management Institute and is also an Approved Grid Instructor (AGI,USA) and Certified Maritime Trainer(IMO & DGS Certified).

Mr. Singh brings in wide experience of training all levels of corporate employees, public sector employees, Govt. employees, NGOs, faculties from colleges, teachers in schools, parents and students. Dr. Bijoy Kumar

Dr. Kumar has 12 years of teaching experience, eight of which are at Delhi University’s Department of Financial Studies. He is an expert on finance and economics and advises several multinational organizations on forex trading and hedging strategies.

Mansha Tejpal

Mansha Tejpal is lecturer at Great Lakes IEMR in the field of Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy. She has worked closely with several multinational companies in different areas such as CDM, carbon footprinting and renewable energy. She is a Post Graduate in Energy Systems from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and has completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management from Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology. She has published several articles in different magazines and newspapers and has a keen interest in research and teaching.

Naveen Agarwal

BE, MBA ( Power Management)

Naveen Agarwal is a research fellow at Great Lakes IEMR focusing on areas pertaining to Power Market, Power Distribution and Project Financing. He was as a consultant in power distribution with focus on Power Distribution Network, Commercial Operations and Financial Modeling. He has worked on different power distribution projects like R-APDRP, RGGVY, feeder separation, and distribution System automation. He holds an MBA (Power Management) from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Rajasthan University.

Kamal Kapoor

B.Tech. (EE), Delhi College of Engineering

Mr. Kamal Kapoor currently heads the Operation and Maintenance Division of NHPC. He is responsible for the successful O&M activities of 12 power stations generating 18 billion units Hydro Power annually. Prior to the present assignment, he has been heading the Design (E&M), Corporate Planning, Corporate Project Monitoring and Commercial Divisions as Executive Director during the last six years. He is the Senior Most Executive Director in NHPC and has vast and varied experience of over 37 years. Based on his experience, he has authored and presented papers on various problems and also authored O&M manuals of hydroelectric power stations. He headed the group which drafted the first consolidated specifications for E&M equipment for power stations & switchyard of 280 MW Dhauliganga HE Project, in consultation with Electrowatt, Switzerland.

Mr. Kapoor has represented NHPC on the Board meeting of International Hydro Association held at London. He is also a member of CBIP, CIGRE, Indian National Hydro Power Association and Indian council of Arbitration. He has been conferred with cash awards and commendation certificates for various professional achievements starting from one for his first assignment for erection of generating equipment of 105 MW Loktak Project at Manipur to the one recently for a unique Research & Development work related to development of turbine seals which was appreciated by BHEL designers.

Dr. Inder Jeet Dagar

Ph.D., Jamia Millia Islamia University, M. Phil., Delhi University

Dr. Inder Jeet Dagar is a Guest Faculty at IEMR in the Department of Accounting. He is the Principal of the College of Vocational Studies (University of Delhi) prior to which he was the Director of Delhi College of Advanced Studies. He holds a Ph.D. from Jamia Millia Islamia University, an M.Phil from Delhi University, I.C.W.A. and is an Honors graduate of Shri Ram College of Commerce. He brings with him a rich experience of over 28 years of research and teaching experience. He has been an active researcher in the field of Labor Management and Commerce, and has published several papers and books.
