The Institute of Energy Management and Research (IEMR), Gurgaon is entering into a strategic partnership with Great Lakes Institute of Management, one of India’s most reputed business schools. As part of this partnership, IEMR would henceforth be Great Lakes Institute of Energy Management and Research (GLIEMR).

Overview of Great Lakes Institute of Management
Great Lakes is a premier management school founded by Padma Shri Dr. Bala V. Balachandran, J. L. Kellogg Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Accounting, Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Kellogg School of Management and executive professor and strategy advisor to the Dean, C. T. Bauer College of Business, Houston, USA. Dr. Bala is one of the most reputed and recognized among the academics of Indian origin anywhere in the world. He was recently ranked 4th in the Economic Times “Top Ten Global Indian Thought Leaders” list. He was one of the main contributors to the setting up of the PGDM program at MDI, Gurgaon and the Indian School of Business (ISB), where Kellogg School of Management was one of the founding partners. He founded Great Lakes in Chennai in the year 2004. In a short period of time, Great Lakes has become one of the most reputed private business schools in India and has been ranked in the top 20 by Business World and Career 360 magazines.

Global Alliances
Great Lakes has an MoU with Yale University School of Management under which the Yale – Great Lakes Research Centre has been established at its Chennai campus with the objective of pursuing advanced research in management. Great Lakes also has an academic alliance with the well-known Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology for exchange of faculty and students and Stuart School also awards a certificate to Great Lakes students.

Great Lakes also has an MoU with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and with other international educational institutions like Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia and C.T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston for promoting advanced research in management and for promoting faculty and student exchange programs.

As part of this strategic collaboration, the tie-up with the Bauer School would be extended to IEMR programs, which would be a major value addition to the IEMR community. IEMR and Great Lakes would work to extend the scope of this tie-up to other Energy programs also. The Bauer GEMBA program would be conducted in Gurgaon in addition to Chennai and would result in faculty from Bauer School visiting and teaching at GLIEMR. Further, students would also benefit from the stellar visiting faculty from the best global and Indian business schools that teach at Great Lakes, who would also teach at the Gurgaon campus going forward.
